We’re delighted to announce a fully packed 2026 Irish Windsurfing calendar — it’s been years since we’ve had a season this busy across all disciplines. From slalom and freestyle to wave, fun events and Kona, there are more opportunities than ever to get involved and compete. Youth riders are very welcome in all disciplines — including Wave — and we’re excited to see the next generation pushing their limits on the water in 2026.

Rusheen Bay Freestyle Frenzy

Get ready for some freestyle action with the 1st ever freestyle competition to run in Rusheen Bay!
This will be a 1 Day event with the possibility of a fun expression session after the competition or even on Day 2.
The aim is to run the event on the 16/17th of November, with a rollover option on the weekend of the 23/24th November.
The Event Organiser (EO) aims to run a single elimination style event, and depending on numbers potentially a double elimination. There will be a gold and silver fleet separate, but if numbers are too low it will just be one fleet.
Gold fleet will be for planing freestyle moves like vulcan, Spock, flaka, etc..
Silver fleet will be light wind freestyle and transitions like carve jibe, heli tack, sail 360, etc..
The expression session we will have a gold teaching silver fleet portion to get tips from the experienced sailors and hopefully upgrade everyone's freestyle!
Also a competition for the bravest sailor and best move during the expression session!

Fun Gathering 6 - Ladies Island, Wexford

Ladies Island is a gem of a location for windsurfing, and we close out the year with a fun trip to the SUNNY South East!
One of the best locations for flat water windsurfing in Ireland.

UPDATE ON 29Aug24 - The Event Organisers, Finn and Niall Mellon, have updated that the event is now LIVE! Brandon Bay Wave Classic is on!!!
Brandon Bay once again welcomes the Irish Wave Tour back to its sandy shores. This is the third time being run by Finn & Niall, and the wave event will be the final event in the 2024 Irish Wavesailing Tour.
This years event will be a two star IWT x PWA World Tour event, meaning everyone competing will gain points towards a world tour ranking.
General Event Registration Cut off Date is October 18th (2 Weeks Prior)

Kona Racing - Malahide, Co. Dublin
The annual KONA windsurf race takes place on 13th October 2024!
Join event organiser Joe Galeckas and all the competitors there on the day for some one design racing fun.
There may be some equipment available for you to use if you do not have one design equipment…do please ask them.

2023 IWA Slalom Ranked Event No. 1
The racing season opens in Northern Ireland, hosted by Newtownards Sailing club on the weekend of 22nd - 23rd April 2023. Gold (£35) and Silver (£20) fleets, fin or foil for the Gold fleet slalom races, fun wing foil races and if there really is no wind at all try some SUP racing. IWA membershpi is required to partake in this event, and registration is online only. See you there!
